Welcome to North Milk Community Council website
North Milk Community Council is an organisation set up by statute & run by local residents to act on behalf of its area which covers the communities of Boreland/Hutton, Corrie Common, Tundergarth/Bankshill.
After an absence of 40 years NMCC was once more established in 2018.

WE WOULD VERY MUCH WELCOME NEW COMMUNITY COUNCILLORS! As we now have the capacity to make small monetary awards to local groups & small education/training awards we welcome others aboard in having a say in the allocation of these awards.
So if you are interested having a say in your community please email:- northmilkcc@gmail.com
About
What we do
The North Milk Community Council are elected (but unpaid!) volunteers, representing a population of nearly 400 residents. NMCC uses various ways of circulating relevant information and seeking your views on on local issues. We do this by a combination of regular open meetings, via a Facebook page, via this website & mailshots via the postal system.Â
If you would like to receive regular, relevant updates via email please complete the contact section at the bottom of the page.

NEXT MEETING
1900hrs on Wednesday 12 March 2025 at Boreland Village Hall - all welcome!
Crossdykes Wind Farm community benefit fund is open for applications, see:-
https://www.ccbf.org.uk/

NMCC has a cash allocation from the Crossdykes Community Benefit fund to distribute to small groups & educational bursaries, see link above.

Additionally, using an allocation from the Crossdykes Community Benefit Fund, NMCC can make small awards each year to community groups based within NMCC area, also small awards to individuals resident within the NMCC area for assistance with education/training costs. If you are interested in either of these please contact us:- northmilkcc@gmail.com
Meetings - what do we talk about?
As the local tier of democracy NMCC is a statutory consultee for local planning-related matters; in addition NMCC is invited to comment on public consultations by either Dumfries & Galloway Council or agencies of the Scottish Executive.
Usually a DumGal councillor or two attend the meeting together with the local community policing officer.

We also raise local issues with local councillors & other relevant agencies (such as Police Scotland; the Strategic Timber Transport agency) e.g. speeding in both Boreland and Tundergarth; the improvement works by Scottish Water.

In order to represent your views we need to hear what you think so we invite you to learn more and lend your support by joining us at our meetings which are held in one or other of the three village halls. These meetings are held on the second Wednesday every other month (January/March/May/July/September/November)
